Recipe for Game of Thrones Inspired Lemon Cakes Served at a Tea Party
- Zest, finely chopped 1 ½ lemon
- 2 ½ tablespoons of lemon juice
- 2/3 cup of buttermilk
- Two eggs – separated
- ½ cup of sugar
Preparing
The oven needs to be heated to 300, then lightly sugar and butter six 4-ounce ramekins. Beat the whites of the eggs till soft peak. Sift the flour, sugar and salt: mix butter, lemon zest, lemon juice and egg yolks in a mixer. Add flour mixture gradually and fold in egg whites. Dived batter in two and at the same time prepare ramekins. Place the ramekins in water, fill the pan with hot water up to halfway and cover with foil.
Bake in the oven until the cake rises, this will take around 25 minutes, uncover and bake until the top of the cake is golden brown. After about 15 minutes, unmould and serve with tea.
